I may be a exiguous late to the game with this one. But that's Okay. A good book still deserves a good mention. And with that mention, I would like to take a occasion for the Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, City of Ashes, and City of Glass novels written by Cassandra Clare.
I believe it was shear fate that I read these books. You see, it started a few weeks ago while on vacation in Florida. Those pesky flights can be somewhat underwhelming. Waiting in airport terminals is boring. Airplane seats are very uncomfortable. And there is something just plainly unnerving about being 32,000 feet in the air in a rocking tube. I'm not a bird. That scares me. So, I try my best to divert my attention. With my nifty smart phone in hand before take off, I reached out to the closest E-book store armed with Starbucks in hand. And thus the adventure began.
All three books are on all sorts of recommended reading lists. I've seen them before while browsing straight through Barnes and Noble. beyond doubt the covers all look great. I know, I know... You're not supposed to judge a book by its cover. But these beyond doubt looked Neat! None the less my interest was peeked, so I downloaded the first book.
What the Books Are About:
I don't want to give too much of the storyline away. It's hard not to. The plot line has been done before. Let's face it, nothing is former anymore. Boy meets girl. Boy has super powers. Girl has super powers. Insert struggle here. There are a few fights here and there. Good wins triumphantly. That's about the most I'm going to give away.
But what makes this series so interesting? What's so special? The exiguous tweaks in the plot line are all sorts of fun. Every time something starts to go right, someone just has to go in and throw that monkey wrench in the works, fouling all things up again. The author has the story line suspense twisted in such a way that it draws the reader in, forcing them to want to keep going, to see what happens next. Her use of foreshadow and imagery keep the story alive and the imaginations running free. The details and emotions are done so well, I often felt like I was watching a soap opera produced by Stephen Spielberg mixed with a blockbuster operation movie. That sounds like a weird combination, but it's true.
And then there is the content. This is considered a young adult book. The vocabulary isn't outstanding. But that's excellent for me. Reading all three books is more akin to sitting and watching a good movie. all things flows naturally. It's a straightforward and enchanting read.
So far I've been a exiguous vague. Like I said, I don't want to give too much of the story lines away. But let's use this example. If Harry Potter, Twilight, Underworld, and True Blood all got together and had a massive literary orgy, this series would be the supervene of that love fest. I mean really, these books have a exiguous bit of everything. The characters consist of vampires, werewolves, warlocks, fairies, shadowhunters, demons, satin, god, heaven, hell, and angels. The scenery takes place in diverse places like New York City, grave yards, under-earth dungeons, to fairy palaces, and to mystical and whimsical cities. Distinguished battles happens. exiguous personal struggles take place. A surprise gay twist is thrown in for good measure. That ever pesky love triangle exists. Some habitancy die and some characters live. Sudden house ties are discovered and quickly regretted, in more than one dynamic way. And other house ties are broken. The stories are very enticing. And they do contain a exiguous bit of everything. And by the time it's all done you will miss the characters.
Did I mention there is now a 4th book in the Mortal Instruments Series called City of Fallen Angels?! Guess who just purchased it straight through Amazon.com? Me!
Would I recommend These Books?
Yes! Yes! Yes! By all means, please go out and buy this series. You won't be sorry. These are one of those few series I truly wish Hollywood would make a movie from. It's deserving of that. The entertainment value is high. The story line is thrilling. I found it so difficult to put these books down. And I would love to know what happened to that character at the end after that thing!? Ms. Clare, I do believe you owe me another book explaining that situation (oh that's right there Is another book!)
But none the less, please buy this series. They are phenomenal fantasy novels good for any age group from sixteen on up. I beyond doubt do promise that this buy will not be met with buyer's remorse.

The Mortal Instruments delineate by Cassandra ClareDr. Oz Welcomes You Video Clips. Duration : 1.95 Mins. One of the biggest hurdles for parents planning a wedding is that thirty years may have passed since they last planned a wedding. To say things have changed in that time is an understatement. Back then, brides were often unaware of the costs and the mom of the bride often made all the plans.
To give perspective, I often tell couples and their parents to think the cost of medium-priced cars then and now. Then, a car cost about ,500, the same as the cost of a wedding. Today, a wedding with all the trimmings still costs the same as a mid-priced new car, which can be around ,000 to 50,000, depending on the locale.
Calculating the scope of expenses
Before you argue that sounds like too much money, remember the cost of the wedding is much more than the ceremony location and food and beverage expenses. Couples often underestimate their wedding expenses by calculating only the cost of the reception. The cost of an officiant to marry them, the ceremony music, reception music, flowers for the ceremony and reception, invitations, and announcements are indispensable expenses that cannot be overlooked. There's also transportation, a wedding dress, tuxedos, a wedding cake, a photographer, a videographer, party favors, and the exercise dinner. Regardless who will bear these costs, they are all factored into the total cost of a wedding.
Though often not figured directly into wedding expenses, I'm sure the bride does not think the costs of hair styling, make-up, manicures and other personal services in establishment for her to look her best to be minor incidentals. They are also real expenses unique to the wedding party, which will have many such extras.
Couples are also prone to miscalculating the estimate of guests. Some costs (wedding dress, ceremony, reception music, photography, flowers, for example) remain the same regardless how many guests attend. Many of the costs of a wedding are the same whether you will have 50 or 500 guests. Known as "hard costs", they will be spread over the estimate of guests. Food, beverages, cake, rental equipment, and favors are among the costs that vary with the estimate of guests.
Choices that can cost or save
Most weddings take place between April and October, with the majority being scheduled for summer. Couples may pay a superior for popular sites and services while busy wedding season. Since most weddings take place on weekends, they may also bear extra labor expenses.
Many vendors only get to book weddings on weekends and, often, only one wedding per day. Vendors have a itsybitsy time to make their money. They don't work weddings seven days a week. High-demand photographers, bakers and florists are able to payment superior rates that can inflate your expenses. Any bride who can think booking her wedding on "off" days -Fridays, Sundays or mid-week- can scrutinize suitable pricing opportunities.
Naturally, the cost of doing enterprise varies by location and region. Metropolitan areas, such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago and New York City, are much more high-priced places to marry than Kansas City, Missouri. California and New York also have a relatively high cost of doing business, as do popular destination cities commonly superior for weddings.
If you stop to think about all that goes into planning a beautiful wedding, and the estimate of vendors who will lead to the day, it is easy to see why weddings cost so much. This is not like any other party you've hosted. However, if you settle what is most important to you before you commit to purchases, you can make choices that will help keep the cost of your dream wedding in line.

Looking send to 2012, top 5 "must" reads as we enter the last week of 2011.
An eclectic collection: two novels, one from a never-read author and the upcoming smash from a proven winner. A historical reflection on the Vietnam war, a look back at Berlin 1961 the most hazardous city in the world at that time, a blockbuster-to-be firm book by a popular firm thinker. And... An old favourite to be revisited in electronic format.
Great by Choice: Uncertainty, Chaos & Luck - - Why Some Thrive Despite Them All by Jim Collins and Morten T. Hansen
Not surpassingly, "Great by Choice" is receiving strong reviews. Collins is an finished rock climber and an even more finished firm observer. His books carry a great deal of coarse sense but I always find his contrarian, data-driven mental to be provoking and insightful.
"Great by Choice" attacks the demand of how to steer a firm to persisting success in an environment characterized by change, uncertainty and even chaos. Likely to be one of the Big firm books of 2012 similar to his earlier "Good to Great" and "Built to Last".
Dereliction of Duty: Lyndon Johnson, Robert McNamara and the Joint Chiefs and the Lies that Led to Vietnam by H.R. McMaster
I noted a reference to H.R. McMaster in George Bush's "Decision Points". Evidently, W found McMaster, a Us Army general who served in Vietnam during his early army days, an intelligent contrarian whose counsel W sought during the post-Iraq invasion years.
McMaster was passed over several times for promotion during his supreme career, allegedly in retribution for his outspoken views, some of which are captured in "Dereliction of Duty".
McMaster's thesis is likely similar to the field of a estimate of articles I read in Ramparts and other counter culture publications during the Vietnam debacle. Many referenced the absence of true troops and political brain reaching Lbj and his advisers. Walt Rostow, Lbj's extra Assistant for National security Affairs, was an unwavering believer in the Vietnam war and America's quality to triumph in the Asian jungles. Apparently, Rostow shaped and controlled the brain so selectively that the 1968 Tet nasty was unthinkable and unimaginable for Lbj and his cabinet.
Rostow's failed policies, of course, led to Lbj's exit: "I will not seek, I will not accept an additional one term as your President". Rostow himself left Washington and retreated to Texas academia.
Look send to this "insider's" perspective on the Vietnam failure.
Berlin 1961: Kennedy, Khrushchev, and the Most hazardous Place on Earth by Frederick Kempe
As a graduate trainee visiting Europe in the early 1970's, I spent several days reveling in the-then West Berlin and trying to perceive East Berlin.
West Berlin lived for the occasion as if some invasion from the east would end the incessant relaxation celebrations.
East Berlin was a very separate world. Foreboding: bullet pock marks remained on the walls of building 30 years after Wwii ended. Border patrols pointed weapons on the slightest provocation. While the feared Stasi were not graphic their proximity was palpable.
Looking back to 1961, not a stretch to imagine East Berlin as the most hazardous place on earth.
11/22/63: A Novel by Stephen King
An admission. I may be one of those rare individuals who has never read a Stephen King novel. Not determined why I have not broken the spine of a King novel and now that I'm reading e-books, I'll likely never have that satisfaction.
In 2012 I'll slay that dragon, empty that item from the bucket list. Reviews are good, field matter is of great interest. So, I look send to the inaugural.
A Wanted Man by Lee Child
I learned of author Lee Child earlier this year. Somehow had overlooked his Jack Reacher novels despite always searching for a new and refreshing thriller writer. Thanks to Malcolm Gladwell for the recommendation via an interview.
Now that I read my way straight through each one of the 15 Reacher novels, I'm awaiting the release of #16 "A Wanted Man" in September or October.
A very long wait! A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway, an all-time favourite to be revisited.
Early last year I renewed acquaintance with Hemingway's "For Whom the Bell Tolls" after a 40+ year separation.
I plan to reconnect with "A Farewell to Arms" in 2012. My last encounter with this Hemingway masterpiece of Wwi was as a first year York University undergrad reading the Scribner's edition. Cost about .50.
This encounter will be via Kobo e-book version.
Top 5 Must Reads for 2012Kevin Trudeau - Amazing Kreskin, Hypnosis, Calming Element Video Clips. Duration : 6.88 Mins.Introduction
Durham -- You can still see the faintly scribbled words to the Preamble to the Constitution on a chalkboard in what used to be Mr. Infinito's history classroom. But there are no more lessons for his classes at Rtp Christian Academy of Technology, a faith-based secret school in Durham. Too many parents have lost jobs in the recession. The dwindling learner body is forcing the school to shut its doors Tuesday."Everything was going fine. The stepping back is indeed to blame," said Shon Allen, significant and cofounder of the school, which combines Christian teachings with industrialized science classes. "It has been a indeed sad experience." (Latifi, 2009)
Every day we hear about someone else Christian school which is struggling to survive or even closing their doors in the tough cheaper that the country is currently facing. For many Christian schools there have been many sacrifices made and many difficult decisions loom in the distance. Christian schools are closing everyday; is there no relief in sight? I believe that it is time for some radical actions and shifts in our reasoning that will test our faith and refocus our purpose for being in Christian Education. Reconsider the following not merely as suggestions but as a clarion call to change the way that we think about the firm of school. I believe that the following will not only help your school survive these economic times, but it will weighty your school into even greater success in the future:
Lower tuition
It sounds like a crazy idea, but think it in your mind. Every chair that is empty in any classroom right now on any campus of any Christian school is not manufacture that school money. Every day that empty chair has an earning possible but if it remains empty, that earning possible is not realized. By lowering tuition there are two things that now occur. First, you are manufacture a statement to the community on your campus now and also in your community that you care about them and you recognize their need. Everybody is struggling. Right now in your school and community, habitancy are losing their homes and cars and other possessions are being repossessed, money is being stretched so thin that every sacrifice is manufacture a inequity and yet many are manufacture approximately impossible sacrifices to continue to educate their children in a Christian School because they believe in it, but the decision looms every day, month and indeed from school year to school year either they will be able to continue. By lowering tuition you are recognizing that these decisions are difficult and you are offering relief and a think to stay. Likewise, in a community that is desperate for answers to the ills of the social school system, lowering tuition will encourage those who may think that a Christian School education is financially unattainable. You are positioning yourself to begin to fill the empty chairs in every classroom. Second, you are creating a school environment with more parent buy-in and learner involvement which will act like an epidemic of good-will and help to spread the news of your actions to the surrounding community (Gladwell, 2000/2002).
Consider this scenario -A Christian School does some uncomplicated demographic research of its current learner body and the surrounding community and based on that research, decides to cut its tuition by 30%. They announce it to their families and immediately they see that habitancy are signing up for next year. Soon others start to come and by the grace of God your enrollment doubles. Now the school may still be facing an issue of not manufacture their budget, but the gap is lessened and now there are more students to help in fundraising efforts, more parent buy-in for the school as far as help around campus and more of a community feel for those who are attending. Not all things is financial. The reality is that your school feels victorious and that is going to help in the long run for you to originate a more financially gain environment. Comprehend that if you can survive that year, the next year will only add more profit to the bottom line because if tuition remains low, habitancy will stay, more will come, and the bottom line becomes more secure.
Think about the airline industry, on any airline, there is a set price per seat for any given flight, but not Everybody pays that price for their single seat. Factors of when the label is bought, purchasing online, no additions or changes, all can add to the value or expense to the buyer in the end. The internet is filled with tour site like Orbitz, and Priceline that offer competitive pricing and packaging for those who can plan their trip according to a relatively small numbers of factors. So when you fly on a plane and you are paying full price, you were not able to meet those parameters. When you consolidate this kind of reality with the idea that daily that a seat in a classroom, (like an empty seat on an airplane) is empty is taking money from your bottom line, you can now see the benefit and the power of utilizing a pricing model that accounts for separate sets of parameters, packaging, financial sliding scales, etc. Remember, the monies that are spent on education are discretionary and so there is a greater pressure added to those funds in light of a worsening economy.
Redefine Financial Aid
Financial aid has come to be such a difficult branch to broach for most Christian Schools. Many times a scholarship fund has been established and there is never sufficient money for the school to indeed make that big of a inequity to their bottom line. However, what if financial aid could be redefined and understood in a separate light? building on the idea of "filling the chairs," what if our goal was to redefine financial aid to mean that tuition could be based on other mitigating factors for each private family. For instance, what if Christ the King Christian School lowered its tuition by 20% and retooled its financial aid policies so that a sliding scale for tuition was enacted so that families could take benefit of their current position financially. What if you plainly negotiated with each private family for that they could pay? In the state of Florida, there are vouchers that are offered for low wage families, what if the Christian school appropriate those monies as the tuition for those students? I Comprehend that not every state will have such a program, but what is ready for the families in your community? How can you leverage these opportunities for more students to attend your school? Let's go back to our illustration above. A school has cut their tuition in half and doubled the enrollment, but there are chairs left. Why not fill those chairs with anything monies you can make ready to your budget? Think of a rack rate on a hotel room, a price is out there that could be charged fro that room, but few are ever charged that amount. Likewise, tuition needs to be redefined in a broader mixture of terms than plainly a funds amount divided by amount of students.
The reality here is that there is no risk in accepting more money, there is a great risk in not receiving any more money. I have presented this scenario before to close friends of mine who are in struggling schools and many of them are implicated that they will fill a chair for less tuition and miss out on an occasion to fill that same chair will full tuition. Airlines don't worry about these discounted seats, and why should Christian Schools. If a seat is empty fill it and make the money. Here is my challenge to you - count your chairs. Right now, today, walk around to every classroom and count the chairs that are empty in each classroom and then do a uncomplicated tally on what kind of wage would be realized by having allowed the students that interviewed for your school but did not come due to finances to have been paying you even the smallest of amounts (like 0 a month).Friends, we are not in a time of financial fancy anymore, the world has changed and our survival will come from doing something separate not from remaining the same.
Redefine Fundraising
Fundraising campaigns have come to be anathema for Christian schools. So many times to make up the inequity economically, there are fundraisers that ping the same families over and over again trying to make up the inequity in a failing budget. One woman whose children attend a important Christian school in the area recently made a criticism to me. She said, "If I could afford to spend more money, then I could afford a greater tuition." Wow, well said. So we have to redefine fundraising and I believe that this is done in two crucial ways. First, we need to understand that our many fundraiser will come by filling the seats that are empty. I know that this sounds like the last section, but it cannot be over emphasized that every empty seat is costing your school a significant amount of money that can be recouped and it is not necessarily the amount of the tuition. Say that I work for a school that currently has 100 enrolled with the possibility of taking in an added 50 students without adding any added personnel or significant overhead. Think of it, again like an airline, it costs the same to fly from Miami to Los Angeles regardless of the plane is full or only half-full. By filling those empty chairs with just 00 a learner we stand to Gain 0,000 not only to the top line but to the bottom Line of the funds - -it is all profit because our expenses will not significantly change. Now which of us could raise 0,000 in fundraising, especially with 100 students? It just makes sense to apply the resources that you have ready in this manner.
Second, if you settle to do fundraising then you need to focus on doing fewer campaigns that will make a large margin of wage for a definite purpose. Gumball fundraisers for normal expenses will not be as productive as a walk-a-thon for a gym. Your events need to be extremely purposed well organized, well executed and lean. Then, there is a need to yield immediate results for those who gave. Send pictures of new mulch and swing-sets in the next month's newsletters. You have to produce your credibility in these kinds of campaigns if you are going to be victorious year after year and strengthen your programming.
Increase Image Building, not Advertising
What is your market role? - are you the technological leader (for a school you would be the schoraly leader but you do not adapt to those that are not able to perform at that schoraly level), or are you the assistance king (for a school you would be the school that is not academically the leader but your school meets the needs of the private learner with excellence and caters significantly to the students needs), or are you the operational excellence leader (the cheapest school, nickels and dimes for extras, and you give only basic assistance and is not the schoraly leader). Choosing upon one of these roles is how you begin to build your image in the community because the image building components are already built into the fabric of who you are as an institution.Consider your educational premise like a consulting firm and Reconsider it from a marketing standpoint - We are consultants for those families that have students that would be lost in a hopeless educational principles that teaches them to think in ways that are contrary to our beliefs. It is a principles where students are herded through and unsafe. It is a principles that cares more about their bottom line than the spirit of the child. It is a principles that ______ (you fill in the blank.) What are we doing to market these shortcomings and how we are indeed the experts in remediating against a broken system? We need to build an image in our community that includes excellence, stability, safety, and awareness of what is needed for the success of young habitancy that will be transitioning into the work force. These are your news sales strategies. Use these strategies even if you put an ad in the paper or a industrial on television. You have to market your expertise, not how you are like Everybody else.
How is this kind of image building accomplished? Great news - it is not expensive, but it takes time dedicated to it for success to be realized. Reconsider the following as phase one of any good image building campaign:
· originate or revise your website to be The calling card for not only the excellence of your institution, but as the best reference for your expertise and knowledge. Take a look at some indeed well industrialized websites for great consulting associates (http://www.libertybuilding.com is a great one as a start) and consideration how they are well organized and Full of facts that is pertinent to their area of expertise. Model your school website after these. You must start to think differently. · Use social networking to join together with your families and their network of friends. Set up a page for your school on all the assorted networks and use Ping.fm to post on all of them at the same time. Use them to talk about why Christian education is a good decision. Point out issues in the news about the social school principles (Headline - 5 children injured in school shooting - this is a great occasion for you to image build towards the families that are worried about the security of their children - and they should be). Use it as a platform to talk about what the school is doing and post artwork, flyers and events to keep connected to the network. It works, but it takes being dedicated to it. · release articles in your local newspapers and tabloids about issues surrounding schooling. If you can release in educational journals, then blast your publishing successes all over the social networks. You are going to have to "toot" your own horn a little, but habitancy are going to pay concentration to expertise especially when something goes wrong in the social setting.
· come to be a blogger - set one up and use it in conjunction with your website. You have to come to be a learner of how to drive traffic to your website (this is called search motor Optimization or Seo). Set up e-mail lists by determining who in your community needs to know about what you offer but do not know that you exist, or that it is affordable and send out high ability e-mail newsletters. Blanket the media and other area outlets with the news of your successes and expertise, not just upcoming events. The community will care more about what you have succeeded in and they are the habitancy you want to come across your door because they are not currently enrolled. · Hire an covering counselor to help you produce this kind of initiative. It is not very costly and there are many who would be glad to help out a local school with their expertise. You can go it alone and find success, but with a small amount of money and microscopic expertise, you can indeed see the results more quickly.
Think Creatively About Everything
I work with a local Christian school that has entered a partnership with some local businesses that write grants for work and research performed in a pro setting for its high school students. The students research and yield deliverables for the businesses and train as a part of their education and in return for these research and amelioration efforts, the associates give the school a grant to fund the program. This has virtually eliminated the need for tuition at the high school level. This is an example of some extremely creative reasoning that has created an environment where finances are no longer an issue. I have known of schools that appropriate international students arrival to the United States to study single subjects or participate in sports training and have a need to continue their education and the school entered into a relationship with these students and appropriate them as students with tuition that reflect their international status (in some cases it is duplicate the quarterly tuition) and then used the extra tuition costs to scholarship students who could not afford to come; very creative. It is time for us to wake up and use our creativity as an asset that will help set us apart (Marx, 2006).
Final Thoughts So let's get this down to earth about all of this. These theories will seem to be "pie in the sky" for some and maybe earth changing for others. However, there are those who are reading this narrative and are still on the fence. So to conclude, let me offer you these points to ponder. Why did your church start a Christian School? Think it through thoroughly. For most, the idea for a Christian school was birthed from a love of your community and a desire to offer a biblically based education and ultimately the hope was to win families for Christ and ensue the Great Commission of creating disciples. At the very heart of your school is a desire to love and clergyman to others, and I am exhorting you to go back to that place as you Reconsider the future. It plainly is not right to allow the lack of finances to class habitancy out who are passionate about Christian Education. Yet this is the very scenario that we are facing. Remember, 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us that God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, of love and of a sound mind. Do not allow the financial accident we are facing to stifle your creativity - it is at the very heart of how we were created; in the image of a fully creative God who has given us the ability to hear from Him and step out of the boat and walk on the water. We just have to be willing to face the fear of getting wet in the face and put faith in the God that called us to start the school in the first place. reasoning differently will be the key that will make the inequity between suffocating and surviving, surviving and thriving, victorious and innovating. It will be the innovators that will all the time survive every difficult moment, for they will settle what direction to tour regardless of what has defined the successes of the past. The successes of the hereafter will all the time be full of risk and bonus for those who are willing to hold on to the truths that never change and change the methods that have been used to get the truth to those that are in desperate need of the gift that only God offers. This needs to be our motivation and then God can truly bless us and in the end say to us, "Well done."

holding the Doors Open - 5 Ways to Stabilize Your Tuition Driven School in a Bad economyTYT Hour - September 24th, 2010 Tube. Duration : 54.20 Mins. Most citizen have seen Disney's "The puny Mermaid" attractive movie. But there are several others which are assuredly exquisite - classics. Here they are:
1. My top pick for a mermaid movie is "Splash". Not only is it funny and the plot wonderful, but there is quite a bit of awesome footage of Daryl Hannah mermaiding in the ocean. We can't get adequate of that! Keep in mind that this is not a children's movie. It was made in the '80s, and for the most part it is okay for the house to watch. But there is a puny bit of nudity (when the mermaid is walking into New York out of the ocean with nothing but her long hair to cover her) and there is some implication of what she and the Tom Hanks character are doing in the elevator, though nothing is shown. The movie is wonderful, with a great story and awesome mermaid footage and lots of laughs, as well as a great romance.
2. My second top selection is "The secret of Roan Inish". This is a safe, quiet movie the entire house can enjoy. It was made in Ireland, and as such is slower and quieter than most American movies. It is about a puny Irish girl who moves to live with her grandparents. While there she unwittingly stumbles upon the difficulty surrounding the island the house used to live on, called "Roan Inish" (Island of the Seals). As she slowly solves the mystery, she brings healing and unity back to the family. In this movie the mythical beast is a selkie, not a mermaid. The selkie lives in the form of a seal. On chance she climbs up on a rock and removes her seal skin, revealing a gorgeous woman. So this movie is a puny bit different, and you will never look at a seal the same way again.
3. My third popular mermaid movie is "Aquamarine." This one is geared to the teen crowd. It has nothing unseemly, so the whole house can enjoy it. It's a delightfully distinct rendition of the excellent puny Mermaid story, with a fabulous surprise ending. The mermaid in this movie is different, more like a quarterly teen girl. There are several good shots of her in the water. The messages in this movie are high quality, such as loyalty, friendship, personal confidence, selflessness and courage. And it is also very funny.
4. Number four of my top mermaid movies is an old black and white excellent called "Mr. Peabody and the Mermaid." You will have a challenge seeing this movie to watch, but Vhs versions are available for sale on Amazon.com. All of the underwater footage was filmed in the preponderant Weeki Wachee Springs in Weeki Wachee, Florida, only a year after this underwater theater opened. Made in 1948, this movie is about a married merge taking a vacation in the Caribbean. The man is roughly 50 and is having a mid-life crisis. While on vacation he accidentally fishes up a live mermaid from the sea! Ann Blyth plays the attractive mermaid and you will love this fabulous film. The only objections a parent might have is the theme of extramarital flirting, and some funny scenes with a guy trying to give up smoking.
5. One that is a puny different, and which only recently came out, is a Japanese anime Miyazaki movie called "Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea", or plainly "Ponyo". In this one the fish-girl is depicted as a goldfish with a human face, which is rather strange. But in an unusual twist, this five-year-old fish-girl has to get the puny five-year-old human boy to love her faithfully, or she will turn into sea foam and be no more. It is such a sweet interpretation, these small children studying to love and trust each other in such an innocent way. It is a tale of wonder and courage and should not be missed.
6. My pick for estimate six is Disney's "The puny Mermaid". It was the movie that got Disney back into the popular movie enterprise again in the 1980s. The music and story are a delight. I remember how enchanted I was when it first came out - it is a delightful mermaid movie, fun for the whole family.
7. Number seven for me is the Russian adaptation of "The puny Mermaid." This 1976 film shows fullness of fabulous mermaid footage under the sea. Back then the swimmers had only small flippers, so they had to ripple their legs in a very quick motion for movement. The underwater scenes are only in the beginning of the movie, but they are marvelous!! (I can't frame out how those swimmers could be in the water with all those jellyfish!!). You can find this movie to rent at Netflix and it is directed by Vladimir Bychkov. Again, this version of Anderson's preponderant story is a puny different, roughly a wholly new story. Be forewarned that there is nudity in one scene, and portrayals of a witch performing magic. Other than those the whole house will enjoy this one.
8. "Barbie Mermaidia" is a little-kid movie, but the plot is good and the scenes are beautiful. I especially enjoyed the unusual design of Barbie's mermaid tail. In this story the main character has to make great sacrifice, and learns some good lessons. I like this one best than the most recent Barbie mermaid movie because of its great message.
9. There was much excitement this year over the new publish of "Barbie in a Mermaid Tail." This one has wonderfully fun surfboarding scenes. The mermaid world of Oceana was a puny strange - basically a mimic of our materialistic society. This made it funny but in this setting you lose the difficulty and magic of legendary mermaids. This is what I call a "fluff" movie - nothing deep, just fun images and a nice puny story.
10. My least popular mermaid movie is a kid movie called "Roxy Hunter and the Myth of the Mermaid." It's about a young small-town journalist named Roxy who slowly discovers her new homeless friend (a gorgeous blond) is assuredly a mermaid. The movie is okay but throughout the entire film there are no underwater scenes or scenes with a mermaid in a tail - none - until after the very end. Then, finally, you see about 10 seconds of the blond mermaid swimming underwater with a gorgeous tail. The story is attractive enough, however, and children will assuredly enjoy this movie.
The Top Ten Mermaid Movies EverHow To Use Your God Power (10-42) [www.TinyURL.com/GodPowerCourse]- Tube. The description has been issued to help consumers find the automobile insurer that best meets their needs. You can use this description to collate the ranking of the assurance business you are doing business with now, or check an additional one business you may be considering.
This description analyzed data collected from 2006 and 2007. It only ranks associates doing business in the State of New York. However, as New York is a heavily populated state, with both big urban centers and big suburban areas, the description can be considered a good representation of assurance business doing nationwide.
How The Ranking Works
The assurance associates are ranked on a complaint ratio. The ratio is calculated by the number of complaints upheld against associates as a division of their total incommunicable passenger auto business.
Insurers with the fewest upheld complaints per million dollars of premiums are shown at the top of the list. The associates with the top ratio of complaints are ranked at the bottom.
Other facts to Consider
The ranking of an assurance business is important, but it is only one characteristic that consumers should weigh when considering doing business with an assurance company. Others are:
o Referrals from friends, relatives, neighbors or co-workers about the experiences they had with their assurance companies
o Price of the excellent versus perceived value
o Search the Internet for other ideas
o Check your state's Doi website, which may include significant consumer facts about associates doing business in your state.
What The Ranking Does and Does Not Contain
o Private passenger assurance is the only type evaluated.
o It only includes the complaints referred by consumers to the Doi. It does not include complaints made directly to the assurance companies.
o Complaints are "upheld" when the Doi agrees with a consumer that an assurance business made an inappropriate decision.
o Information from prior years is included in the tables so consumers can see if the business has improved or gotten worse.
o All associates with at least million in excellent in 2006 and 2007 are included in the ranking. Insurers with less than million were included if they had 10 or more complaints against them.
